Hard to believe the conference was nearly 2 weeks ago already and everyone is still buzzing!
With many memorable moments, one that captured the hearts of the audience first thing Wednesday morning was our two MCs sharing their stories of trips to Thailand and the trials of dialysis 3 times a week..
Stephen Watson opened up about his dad donating his own kidney after discovering that both Stephen’s kidneys were failing nearly 30 years ago. Selflessness evident, Stephen explained how his mum had to cope with both her son and husband ongoing surgeries and how he is now back on the list again. Enduring dialysis 3 times a week whilst travelling across Europe covering a multitude of sporting fixtures, Stephen is determined not to let his own challenges stop him.
As the patron of the Children’s Kidney Fund Stephen was leaving our event to head straight to Belfast City Hospital where he was filming a BBC Northern Ireland documentary Life on the List, highlighting both the importance of organ donations and the vital, innovative work of our own local hospital in leading the way in the NHS to improve the health and wellbeing of people across the UK. Online registrations for organ donations make it even easier for anyone to register, another example of technology helping to save lives!

Get your glad rags on!
As we all get older, formal events seem to become more and more rare — so this year as it’s our 20th conference we thought why not use this as an opportunity to dress up! Our evening will feature a drinks reception in the Chandelier room, followed by a delicious four course dinner, live music and special guests.
Dress up dress code – Normally formal means Black tie where men wear a tuxedo and a black bowtie, while women wear anything from a long dress to dressy separates to a formal cocktail dress.
